Meerschaum is a very rare mineral…a kind of hard white clay. The highest quality meerschaum is found only in Eskisehir, TURKEY.
For hundred of years Turkish artists have carved beautiful pipes, famous among collectors and pip smokers worldwide. Meerschaum pipes hold the tobacco at a lower temperature than most pipes and thus retain better flavor, and naturally absorb nicotine. Pipes darken with use, and become more valuable over time.
