Middle Eastern Drumming Instructional Series With George Sadak
This class will teach Egyptian Tabla (also known as Darbuka or Dumbeck) by a native Egyptian drummer George Sadak . Through this class the students will be introduced to 4 genres from different regions of the Middle East . Students will exercise the rhythms within a musical environment by accompanying a soloist or a belly dancer.
NEW TABLA BASICS CLASS starts Tuesday August 3rd 6:30-7:30PM 6 Weeks $90 Class is designed for Beginners and those who wish to polish their technique on Tabla. Instruction will be given for the hour...but you may also stay and practice with the continuing class at 7:30-9PM
CONTINUING TABLA Tuesday August 3rd 7:30-9PM 6 Weeks $99 For continuing students... and those with at least a bit of basic Tabla experience. First hour is instruction in technique and rhythms...generally followed by a visiting musician or dancer who helps put the polish to our drum playing. Each week is a surprise. We have studied Arabic, Persian and Greek rhythms...and met some of Seattle's finest musicians in this class.

Prior knowledge of drumming will be helpful but not a must.
